Adding a 'Human Dimension' to business simulations

At the Mikkeli Campus of Aalto University in Finland, students in the final phase of coursework for their BScBA degree participated in CESIM Global Challenge during the spring capstone course (all will go on exchange the upcoming autumn). This course combines finance and strategy decisions with close examination of aspects of the 'human dimensions' of students' future workplaces; a combination that has been central to each iteration since its first use in 2015. At all times participants are working, in parallel, on two questions: “What are our options for achieving the best possible return to shareholders?” and “How do we establish - and maintain - effective group dynamics within our team?”

Belgian and Hungarian students get a taste of business life with Cesim simulations

For a second consecutive year, students from BGE-PSZK (Department of Finance and Accounting of Budapest Business School and University) and from the Belgian HoGent University took part in an English-language business simulation course in Budapest, Hungary. The 35 participants formed a diverse group with different nationalities (Belgium, Azerbaijan, Hungary, Georgia, China, Holland, Mongolia, Germany, Lebanon and Ethiopia, to name a few) and who spoke twelve different native tongues.

Puerto Rico university bridges Business Simulations & offline training

We have previously explored how a Brazilian University brings Business Simulation Games to the next level. Yet, this is not the only instance in which educators using Cesim Simulations have found interesting ways of combining online and offline tranining. DBA Jose A. Flecha Ortiz, professor at the National University College in Puerto Rico, has combined online training using Cesim Global Challenge, our International Business and Strategy Simulation Game, with offline activities as part of the capstone course of his business students.

Workshop in France "How to teach with a business simulation"

Participants left full of ideas from our workshop organized in Paris on June 15, 2017. This training day was intended for an audience discovering Business Simulations.

Our training revolved around our Cesim SimBrand simulation. Our facilitator, Danielle Fish and the Cesim France team were present throughout this workshop to present the different subjects addressed and to discuss with the participants in a convivial atmosphere.
