Dr. Gavin UrieGavin is a Lecturer in Hospitality Management and Programme Leader for undergraduate hospitality management programmes at Edinburgh Napier University. He is experienced in programme and module design, assurance for learning, development and design of authentic assessments, active learning principles, and blended and online learning. Gavin has experience of teaching at undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral level and interests in student wellbeing, support and equality. His research interests include philosophies of hospitality, alternative economies, social interaction, identity, belonging, pedagogies of care, regenerative hospitality and gastronomy. Gavin has experience of integrating simulation learning into undergraduate and postgraduate modules, designing assessments to embed this learning and algin simulation learning with transferable skills for employability enhancement.
