After the success of inaugural champions Team The One from Nankai University in last year’s final, we can report the Cesim Elite trophy will stay in China for another year. Team Unstoppable from the Beijing University of International Business and Economics took the crown after a fierce week of competition.

They were pushed hard by some excellent teams from around the world. Team PUC1, from Pontificia Universidade Católica de Campinas (Brasil) took second place, and third went to Team Zeroes, from the Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode.
Once again, the long road to the final started in the autumn of 2021 when more than 8000 hopeful students from all over the globe began competing in their regional qualifiers. These were eventually whittled down to 60 students in 14 teams from 10 different countries during it out last week. Congratulations to them all! Just getting to the final is a mammoth task.

In this list: University of Economics and Law (UEL) (Vietman), Pontificia Universidade Católica de Campinas (Brasil), Universidad Sergio Arboleda (Colombia), Universidad Marista de Mérida (Mexico), IAE France (France), Institut Paul Bocuse (France), Sakaria Business School (Turkey), Metropolitan University (Serbia), Shen Zhen University (China), University of International Business and Economics (China), Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (India), T A Pai Management Institute (TAPMI) (India), Mongolian University of Science and Technology (Mongolia).
Finalists were judged partly on their performance in a customized version of Cesim’s Global Challenge international business and strategy simulation, and partly on a presentation video each team created showing their solution to a business case problem.
On this year’s panel were Dr. Paulami Mitra from IÉSEG France; Mr. Graeme Kirkup, Senior Vice President of Cesim; and Mr. Veijo Kyösti, Cesim CEO.

Cesim Elite offers also complimentary events
Cesim Elite isn’t only for students, however. During the finals award-winning lecturer, teacher, and consultant Dr. Michael Geringer hosted a fascinating workshop on delivering business simulation, and his methods for mentoring students.
An incredible 200 academics from around the world registered, making it one of the largest events of its kind this year.
