Het geautomatiseerde systeem waarmee werd gespeeld, was niet bepaald geavanceerd. Het ging vooral nog op papier en met een spreadsheetprogramma. Toch is het een ervaring welke ik nooit meer zal vergeten en waarvan ik de meeste details nog weet. Een zeer effectieve manier van leren en plezier maken. Daarna heb ik via mijn vorige werkgever een aantal keren een Cesim simulatie met MBA-studenten gedaan. Toen was ik al zeer enthousiast over de simulaties van Cesim. Sindsdien weet ik, en dat hoor ik ook vaak terug van mensen die een Cesim simulatie hebben gespeeld, dat de impact van het spelen van een simulatie zeer groot is. Een simulatie biedt je de mogelijkheid te experimenteren met je bedrijfskundige kennis en je ondernemerschaps- en leiderschapstalenten. Cesim biedt je hiertoe niet alleen een zeer geavanceerd en perfect online platform om management en besluitvorming te leren en te oefenen, maar het is ook een perfect instrument om te leren samenwerken en communiceren in een team, en leiderschap te ontwikkelen. Mijn klanten bevinden zich in de onderwijssector (bachelor/master) en het bedrijfsleven. Ik ben van mening dat een simulatie het beste onderwijsinstrument is om deelnemers de mogelijkheid te bieden te experimenteren op het gebied van de bedrijfskunde en leiderschapsvaardigheden. Een simulatie is niet enkel en alleen een perfect uitgedacht online platform om management en besluitvorming te leren en te oefenen, maar daarnaast vooral een perfect instrument om te leren samenwerken in teams en leiderschap te ontwikkelen. En wie wil er niet "spelen" en "winnen"? Deze plezier en competitie factoren leiden ertoe dat een simulatie de mogelijkheid biedt om origineel gedrag te observeren en hierop feedback te geven en op te reflecteren. Het gebruik van een simulatie als geïntegreerd onderwijsinstrument in een opleiding of training biedt deelnemers de mogelijkheid om de gehele leercyclus van Kolb te doorlopen: abstracte conceptualisering \> actief experimenteren \> concrete ervaring \> reflectieve observatie, welk weer leidt tot nieuwe abstracte conceptualisering et cetera.
